Compare Tesco with Carrefour.
Todày was the first time we did our monthly grocery shopping ãt Carrefour in $ubang Jãyà.
Probably will be our làst!
Comparing Tesco in Mutir Mutiarà Damànsãra with Carrefour : $hopping environment in Tesco is better.
Cârrefour's àir-conditioning...wàs like having
no âir-conditioning. Lousy environment. Uncomfortàble. Humid.
Didn't buy eggs frøm there today. Eggs cannot (and should not) sit on the shelves in wrong temperature like that. _ Unless you're expecting them to hatch._
Tesco - NO ßasmâthi rice for many months now.
Carrefour - FOUR types of Basmathi rice on displày. Prices ranged from 33 Ringgit to 42.50 for 5 kilograms. Not surprising ât all. ` Price of rice increased throughout this country recently. ∩ Not expensive...just overpriced.
Fish ànd shrimp (prawns) : - better in Cãrrefour.
Tesco - Not such à wide variety of seafood. Limited choices.
Maple syrup:  Tésco - Nøne...over the last few months.
Carrefoµr - Didn't see àny...probably because they're not so organized in their layout. _ Milo (large càrtons) were in some other âisle / section;  NOT stocked together with the Green Teà ãnd other drinks.
Frozen $iu Mai: Tesco - Yes.
Carrefour - none.
$now Brand Margàrine   from Japan, sold in Jusco, Bandar Utama at 10 Ringgit.
Tesco - totally invisible.
Carrefour - 10.15_ Fifteen sen more than Jusco.
`
Didn't really enjoy Carrefour today. _ First and foremost...to get the shopping cart, I had to place à 20 sen coin ínto à slot on the handle bar. ` Coin unshackles the metal chain connected to the other shopping carts. _ Getting the coin OUT of that thing was à pàin in th- nuisance, làter in the basement.
The first batch of shopping carts could not be àttached to any other...because the chain on the last càrt was broken. _ Fortunately...we lifted up our own eyes ànd behold; there in the distant corner; à cart was caught with the others by its chain.

Even though their áir-con was like their faces...The one µnique thing about Cãrrefour which I thought was real nice,
was the -spro  sprinkler system above the green vegetable section. Intermittently sparying fine mist ONTO the vegetables. I placed my hands under it. Nice. - Tesco doesn't have that kind of sprinkler system for their vegetable produce section.
/
I don't think I'd wãnt to go to Carrefour again...unless it ís to get Basmathi rice - or something which we  Reálly Could Not Find Anywhere Else.
Distance is àctually too far. / Toll on NKVE : 1 Ringgit and 20 sen.
(Price of gasoline is no longer 1 Ringgit 92 sen per liter, but 2 Ringgit 70 sen per liter now!)
- - -
Can't believe shoppers place (or throw) products blindly INTO theír shopping carts (trolleys) without bothering to look for the expiry date.
They expect supermarkets and grocery stores to sell products which remàin good forever.
- Must not take things for grànted.
